SOUTH HOLLAND | The South Holland Village Board will allow DKM Enterprises to subdivide the 3.3-acre property they recently purchased.
At the last board meeting, DKM representatives explained they were going to build a car wash at 1111 162nd St. They also told the board it is possible a restaurant would be built on part of the land.
At that meeting, the board approved a redevelopment agreement that will allow DKM to apply for $175,000 in tax increment financing-eligible funds.
DKM plans to demolish the current building on the property, and build a car wash on 1 acre. The money spent for the demolition, landscaping, and the car wash will all be TIF eligible expenditures.
At Monday's meeting the board approved a motion to allow DKM to subdivide the property. The car wash will be built on 1.1 acres, and the other 2.2 acres were subdivided into a separate parcel.
DKM would be able to sell or lease the 2.2 acre parcel.
The board also approved a conditional use permit to Children’s Journey Childcare.
The business will operate a commercial daycare facility at 16168 Drexel St. They met with the Planning and Development Commission on Nov. 15 to review their plans for the daycare facility. The commission approved the plans and recommended the board grant the conditional use permit.
Panera Bread received approval of their final construction plans, and will begin to break ground. The board approved a Planned Unit Development that was reviewed and recommended by the Planning and Development Commission.
The restaurant will be located at 300 E. 162nd St.
The board approved a resolution to extend the contract with ICRMT for risk management insurance. The contract covers all liability insurance for the village.
Village President Don De Graff noted the premiums decreased for the new contract.
A resolution was passed to re-sign with CPI Qualified Plan Consultants for another year. CPI administers the deferred compensation plan for village employees.
