Catholic Charities food pantry stay open with help from Seton Academy

November 28, 2011 12:00 am  •

SOUTH HOLLAND | Seton Academy students recently collected more than 300 bags of food items from the residents of the South Holland community.

Students handed the bags out the previous week and donated the items residents filled them with to Catholic Charities-South Region, which was in danger of closing its food pantry because of a lack of provisions.

Seton students mobilized South Holland and other Catholic parishes and schools as a result of their efforts. St. Barnabas students brought in 1,800 cans of food.

Seton Academy is still getting calls to pick up food or getting questions where food items can be dropped off. Any additional food or monetary donations can be made directly to Catholic Charities. Call (708) 333-8379.
