SOUTH HOLLAND | State Rep. Elgie Sims, D-Chicago, is partnering with DeVry University to host a Job Boot Camp at 6 p.m. June 19 at South Suburban College's Kindig Performing Arts Center, 15800 State St., according to a news release.

At this informational session, job seekers will learn new resume writing tips, job search strategies, interview preparation, the importance of networking and how to utilize social networking tools in searching for a job. Attendees also may bring a copy of their resume and receive one-on-one resume consultation with a career expert.

"The job market is constantly changing and the most effective job search methods are always evolving," Sims said. "This workshop will give residents the tools they need to conduct their job search more effectively. I encourage all residents to come out and participate in my Job Boot Camp."

Sims represents the 34th Illinois House District, which includes the city's South Side, south suburbs and parts of Will and Kankakee counties. For more information call (773) 783-8800.
