SOUTH HOLLAND | Seton Academy high school students are leading the third annual food drive throughout the village of South Holland on Nov. 16 and 23.

Through the generosity of Walt’s Food Center again this year, thousands of bags will be distributed throughout the village leaving them on the porches of residents on Nov. 16. Each bag will have a flier attached listing the most needed nonperishable, nonexpired items. Residents are asked to fill the bag during the week and place it on their porch by 8 a.m. Nov. 23 so students, faculty and parent volunteers can return to pick them up.

No door bells will be rung as a reminder so residents are asked to do their best at remembering to set the bags out. If it is easier, three businesses in town are acting as drop off sites, MB Financial, 475 E. 162nd St.; Providence Bank, 630 E. 162nd St.; and Abbott’s Printing, 611 E. 170th St. Residents can also drop off contributions at Catholic Charities located in Seton Academy, 16100 Seton Drive.

Last year, this drive collected 3,000 pounds of food that was distributed to local families. Contact the school at (708) 339-8959 for more information.
