THORNTON | A proclamation of appreciation was issued at last week's  Village Board meeting to honor Rocco and Margaret Consorti for the couple's many years of service to the village.

"Margo actually is currently the longest-living resident in Thornton," Village Administrator Jason Wicha said. "She was born in Thornton over 90 years ago."

Rocco is a World War II veteran and current member of Thornton's Planning and Development Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Both are active members of the Thornton Historical Society and longtime members of St. John Church in Glenwood, where Margaret was named 2011 Woman of the Year.
