A 50-year-old Des Plaines man died Monday after a tire on his motorcycle blew out and he was run over by several vehicles on northbound Interstate 65 in Jasper County, police said.

Bahnan Dawood was about 3.5 miles north of the Fair Oaks exit about 11:15 p.m. when the back tire on his motorcycle blew out and he lost control, according to Indiana State Police.

Dawood landed in the road and was struck by a semi and several other vehicles, police said. None of the vehicles stopped.

The motorcycle came to rest on an outside shoulder, police said.

Dawood was wearing a helmet, but could not have survived the injuries, police said.

All lanes of northbound I-65 were closed for about four hours for investigation and cleanup, police said.
