A driver died Saturday in a rollover wreck on northbound Interstate 65, about four miles south of the DeMotte exit, according to Indiana State Police.
Police are withholding the name of the victim pending notification to the family.
About 6:15 p.m., the driver of a 2001 Ford Explorer lost control of the SUV and over-corrected, causing the vehicle to roll on its driver's side, skid off the road and roll again several times before coming to rest on the driver's side in a ditch, police said.
The driver, who had to be extricated from the SUV, was wearing a seat belt. The person was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jasper County coroner.
Northbound traffic remained open during the investigation of the crash.
