A Rensselaer man wanted on a warrant was found hiding behind a barn after leading police on a vehicle and foot chase Friday near the Jasper/Starke county line.
Anthony Lennox, 26, was charged with habitual traffic violator for life, resisting law enforcement, two counts of criminal mischief, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and multiple traffic violations, police said.
Lennox was wanted for a parole violation for a burglary conviction and was being sought on an active warrant out of White County for resisting law enforcement.
According to Indiana State Police, at 7:30 a.m., a state trooper was traveling east on Ind. 10 near County Road 500 East when he saw a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 driven by Lennox drive off the road. The trooper turned on his emergency lights and Lennox allegedly began a winding chase through residential yards and farm fields.
Police said Lennox hit a fence in a residential yard in Starke County and fled on foot into a wooded area. Officers with K-9s found Lennox hiding behind a barn.
Lennox is being held at the Jasper County Jail.
