ROSELAWN | Troopers temporarily closed a portion of Interstate 65 on Monday night after a semitruck rolled over and spilled nitric acid across the road, police said.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-65 near mile marker 227, which is south of the Roselawn exit in Jasper County, police said.

No one was injured in the single-vehicle crash, police said. It was unclear Monday night how the crash happened.

Troopers said the southbound and northbound lanes in Jasper County are temporarily closed until a hazmat crew arrives to clean up the spill. Police did not know when the lanes would reopen.

Police said motorists could use Ind. 10 and Ind. 14 as alternatives to I-65.
