WHEATFIELD | The Georgia-Pacific Bucket Brigade grant program has awarded $5,000 to the Wheatfield Volunteer Fire Department.

William Davis, vice president of the Wheatfield Volunteer Fire Department, said the grant will pay for new Jaws of Life extensions for extracting car crash victims.

Chris Banyai, Georgia-Pacific safety manager, made the presentation to the fire department on Friday.

The Georgia-Pacific Bucket Brigade will award grants to 55 departments this year, totaling $270,000. It's the largest sum since the program began in 2006.
