The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be open extra hours to issue identification cards ahead of the upcoming election.
Region BMV branches will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 2 and from 6 a.m to 7 p.m. Nov. 3.
The BMV provides free IDs to any Hoosier without a driver's license who is old enough to vote and has proper documents.
Documents needed include a birth certificate or passport, a paycheck stub or credit card, and proof of residency.
The Nov. 3 ballot will ask whether to establish a regional transit district. The Lake County elections board said this week it will not hold a referendum. There will be a referendum in Porter and St. Joseph counties.
