CLUB SCHOLARSHIP | Lake County
The Mid Lake Republican Women's Club provides a scholarship yearly for current high school seniors and college freshmen in the amount of $500. The deadline for submitting an application is March 15. To be eligible, applicants must be residents of Lake County pursuing a college degree in one or more of the following fields of study: political science, government, journalism and/or law.

ART SCHOLARSHIP | Indiana
Registration ends Feb. 28 for high school students to compete for a chance at a $10,000 scholarship through the creative patriotic art competition sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. The winner will receive the scholarship, a plaque and two nights' lodging (including for one adult chaperone) and per diem to attend the 2010 Ladies Auxiliary national convention in Indianapolis. The winner's art work will be featured on the cover of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW magazine and on their Web site. The second place winner gets a $5,000 scholarship; third place wins $2,500 and fourth place gets $1,500. Fifth through eighth place each win a $500 scholarship. The second- and third-place winners will be featured in the Ladies Auxiliary VFW magazine and on their Web site. Art work and application can be turned in to any VFW Post.

SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED | Northwest Indiana
The Jim and Betty Dye Scholarship Program is offering four-year
undergraduate tuition scholarships up to $3,000 per semester ($24,000
total) to seniors from selected high schools in Northwest Indiana who
will be attending either Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana
University Northwest, Purdue University West Lafayette, Purdue
University Calumet, IUPUI, or Ball State University. Applicants must
possess a minimum combined SAT score of 1650, a GPA of 3.25 or better,
and be admitted unconditionally to one of the named universities. In addition to
academic excellence, applicants must demonstrate school and community
involvement and a desire to return to Northwest Indiana after university
graduation. Seniors from the following high schools who meet the
qualifications are eligible to apply: Bishop Noll Institute, Calumet,
Clark, Crown Point, East Chicago Central, Gavit, Griffith, Hammond,
Hanover Central, Highland, Lake Central, Lowell, Morton, Munster, North
Newton and Whiting. The application deadline is March 1.

SMITH SCHOLARSHIP | Lake County
The Lake County Extension Homemakers Association is accepting applications for the Lucile Smith Memorial Scholarship that is offered annually. In addition to this scholarship program, applications for the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association (state level) Career-Advancement Scholarship Program are also available through the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association. To be eligible for the Lucile Smith Memorial Scholarship, applicants must be Lake County residents 21 or older. To be eligible for the Indiana Extension Homemaker Association Scholarship, applicants must be Indiana residents 25 or older. Both Scholarships require admittance or clearance for admission to an academic or vocational school that is state licensed or accredited. Scholarship applications must be received by March 1, 2010. PATIENT SCHOLARSHIPS | Lake, Porter counties
Drs. Kenneth Hyde, Michael Koufos, Charles Hurst and David Albright of Orthodontics Inc. are again offering a scholarship opportunity to past or present patients (who had/have upper and lower braces) who are college-bound high school seniors. They will award seven $500 scholarships. Applications can be picked up at any of the firm's seven locations in Lake and Porter counties or through the guidance office at local high schools. The entry deadline is March 12.

FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS | Crown Point
Crown Point Community Foundation Inc. is accepting applications through March 12 for its 2010 Scholarship Program. Applications are available at the foundation office, 213 S. Court St., online at crownpointcommunityfoundation.org, or in the Crown Point High School guidance department. A complete list of scholarship awards can be obtained at the foundation office or online. Most scholarships are for Crown Point residents, but a few are open to Porter and south Lake County residents.

PEACE FELLOWSHIPS | Worldwide
Applications for 2011-13 Rotary World Peace Fellowships to be awarded worldwide are now available from the Rotary Club of Schererville/Rotary District 6540. The fellowships are for study at one of the six Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution to obtain a two-year master’s degree in international relations, peace studies, conflict resolution and related areas. The Rotary Foundation has established the Rotary Centers in partnership with prestigious universities throughout the world. Fellowships are for two academic years and provide funding for round-trip transportation, tuition and fees, room board, and other limited expenses. Completed applications are due by March 31. TEEN CLUB AWARD | Lake County
Advance Financial Federal Credit Union is offering eligible members of its Cha-Ching Teen Club the opportunity to apply for a new $750 scholarship for the 2010-11 academic year. The Advance Financial FCU Scholarship Program will award $750 to an incoming freshman of an accredited college or university. To be eligible, a student must be a graduating high school senior who is enrolled as a full time student (12 or more credit hours) at an accredited university or college. The applicant must also be an AFFCU Cha-Ching Teen Club member in good standing by March 31. Applicants must submit a completed application at one of three branch locations: 31 W. U.S. 30 in Schererville, 4035 Alder St. in East Chicago, or 1544 W. 36th St. in Gary, by March 31.
