SCHERERVILLE | Parks officials are offering a two-class program for baby sitters.

The American Red Cross Baby Sitter's Course is for ages 11 to 15 years old. The program teaches the responsibilities and qualities of a good baby sitter.

The classes will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and March 20 at Schererville Town Hall, 10 E. Joliet St. Both classes must be attended to receive a Red Cross certificate.

Participants will learn how to make good decisions, supervise children, adjust their actions based on the age of the child, how to handle emergencies and more.

The cost is $40 for residents and $44 for nonresidents. Registration is available at Town Hall or at www.activenwi.com. -- By Times Staff
