CROWN POINT | Third Monday at 1, Crown Point Community Library's book discussion group, is celebrating its 10th anniversary at 1 p.m. Sept. 21 at the library, 214 S. Court St.
Members - past, present and new - are welcome to join in the celebration, share a cake, rekindle friendships, reflect on past book discussions and discuss the monthly title, "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society."
The first meeting was held Sept. 20, 1999 and was attended by 23 members. "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden was the topic of the discussion.
"During 10 years of meeting, our membership has grown and changed. We are always welcoming new members to our group, and we have sadly lost some along the way," said group leader Barb Houk, the Special Services librarian.
Original members who remain regular participants are Lenora Festa, Betty Flannery, Rita Galambos, Jean Szymanski, Pat Turner and Gayle Whittaker.
