LAKE VILLAGE - Fourth-graders at Lake Village Elementary School, present a copy of their newly published book, "Indiana: Facts from A to Z," to Mrs. Smith, the school librarian, for the school library. They learned the writing and publishing process by collaborating to create an ABC book. The students began by brainstorming an idea for each letter of the alphabet that would help others learn more about Indiana. The students then researched all they could about the word for the letter they were writing about. Then came the rough draft, editing, a rewrite and final copy. The students also illustrated each alphabet letter. The manuscript was sent to Student Treasures Publication and a hardcover book was printed. Students had the opportunity to purchase a book.
