Schererville hosts self-defense class for women at Town Court

SCHERERVILLE | The Schererville Police Department will sponsor a free women's self-defense class next week.

The class is scheduled from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Schererville Police Department. Check-in is at 6 p.m. at Town Court. Advance registration is required.

Pick up an application or download one from the town Web site, http://www.schererville.org, click on the Police Department link and click Downloads. Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Nov. 2 at the department, 25 E. Joliet St.

Class size is limited to 50 people, with priority to Schererville residents. Nonrestrictive clothing is recommended.
