I had the pleasure of attending the photo exhibit "Sanctuaries" last week at the Indiana Welcome Center, Interstate 80/94 and Kennedy Avenue.
Featuring local photographers, it is a beautiful display of artwork showing places in northwest Indiana - a safe place for wildlife, a place of refuge and protection or shelter, scenery you will recognize from the John Wood Mill in Hobart to the lighthouse in Michigan City, Mount Baldy, West Beach and lovely interiors of churches. Ballerinas photographed in the Old Lake County Courthouse, breathtaking scenes of our Lake Michigan shore line.
This is a display worth taking the time to see, available through March 4. The Welcome Center gift shop offers many unusual gifts and the staff will help you plan your Indiana vacation this summer with books and maps.
