Bade planning to drill for votes in Lake County coroner race
CROWN POINT | Dentist Daniel "Antich" M. Bade will make another bid for the Lake County coroner's office.
Bade filed his candidacy for coroner Wednesday in the May 8 Democratic primary.
Bade was one of four Democrats running for coroner in 2008. He captured 23 percent of the vote, but ran second to incumbent county coroner Thomas Philpot.
Philpot hadn't filed for re-election by the close of business Wednesday at the county elections board offices, but has until noon Friday to do so.
The Democratic slate for county coroner includes Bade, George Deliopoulos, a 22-year veteran deputy coroner, along with Randall Guernsey, a former county police officer and Ross Township assessor.
Republican Dave Wenger filed his candidacy for the U.S. House District 1 seat, now held by U.S. Rep. Peter Visclosky, D-Merrillville.
