CEDAR LAKE | Beer was taken in a burglary Friday at a Cedar Lake home, police said.
The homeowner discovered the break-in at 1:30 p.m. Entry to the home, in the 14700 block of Dewey Street, was gained by prying open the back door, Cedar Lake Police Chief Jerry Smith said.
Smith said the homeowner reported 24 bottles of beer had been removed from his refrigerator. No suspects are in custody, Smith said.
A photograph of a footprint found at the scene was placed into evidence, Smith said.
