CEDAR LAKE | The Hanover Community School Corp. board accepted donations, both monetary and otherwise, during its recent meeting.

Thanks to Target’s Take Charge of Education program, which earmarks a percentage of sales for specified schools, Lincoln Elementary School has received $1,298.83 in donations, board members said.

“I hope there is a similar donation for Jane Ball (elementary) next month,” said Julie Mueller, board vice president.

The Cedar Lake Lions Club also donated dictionaries to Lincoln Elementary School. Every third grade Lincoln student will get a dictionary, the school’s principal said.

Mary Joan Dickson, School Board president, donated a trombone to the Hanover Central High School Band program. Irene Adams also donated items to the band program, including two guitars, cables, tuners, cases, a guitar stand and amp.
