CEDAR LAKE | The town has issued a boil order for businesses along portions of 133rd Avenue and Industrial Drive, with the restriction expected to last through Monday.
The order impacts businesses along 133rd Avenue between Parrish Avenue and Industrial Drive. Businesses down Industrial Drive are included in the order as well, according to Town Administrator Ian Nicolini.
Nicolini said the earliest he expects the order to be lifted is Monday. No homes are impacted by the boil order, but Hanover Central High School is having to distribute bottled water to students, Nicolini said.
Nicolini said some restaurants are adhering to the boil order, but as far as he knew, they were still open.
The Burger King on 133rd Avenue is serving cans of pop and providing bottled water, according to General Manager Shirley Brewer.
Nicolini said a water main break caused the town to institute the order on Thursday.
“We apologize for the inconvenience,” Nicolini said. “We are going to have the occasional main break, but we are working to get the boil order lifted as soon as possible.”
