CEDAR LAKE | Town Administrator Ian Nicolini will continue to look into buying equipment for the Fire Department.
The current estimate for a new air pack is $102,000, and Nicolini was directed to review one more proposal before making a presentation to the Town Council.
An air pack helps firefighters breathe when they are on a fire call.
Nicolini will prepare a financing resolution based on the lowest cost proposal. After the resolution is approved, the council will enter into a lease-purchase agreement to acquire the equipment.
Council President Randy Niemeyer said he has seen and reviewed the department’s current apparatus, and believes that a new one is definitely necessary.
