CEDAR LAKE | The town’s annual Parade of Lights is at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The parade of 32 floats leaves from Hanover Central High School, continues along the lake and ends at the Town Complex, where the town’s tree-lighting ceremony will be held.

This year’s parade judges are Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson and Highland Clerk-Treasurer Michael Griffin. Speros Batistatos, president and CEO of the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority, is this year’s emcee.

The winner will receive $300, courtesy of NIPSCO. The second place award, $200, is sponsored by NIES Engineering, Inc. DQ Lakeside is sponsoring the $100 third-place prize. DQ West Grill & Chill is the sponsor of the $75 fourth-place prize. The fifth-place prize, $25, is  sponsored by Centier Bank.

Free cups of hot chocolate will be available at DQ Lakeside during the parade.

Santa Claus will be at the Town Complex and will bring candy treats.

The parade is sponsored by the Cedar Lake Chamber of Commerce.
