Cedar Lake slices budget by $551,860 at last '12 meeting

CEDAR LAKE | The town’s 2012 budget has been reduced by more than $500,000.

With $551,860 of budget dollars unused in 2012, the Town Council reduced the past year’s budget by that same amount during the last meeting of the year.

Almost half of the cuts were in the general fund, $229, 650. The council also approved $114,800 in cuts to the cumulative capital development fund. Some $59,000 was trimmed from the redevelopment general fund.
