CEDAR LAKE | The Cedar Lake Parks and Recreation Department will offer a number of summer camps starting Monday through Aug. 9.

The line-up includes:

Adventure Camp, for ages 5 to 11, operates daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Extended care is available from 6  to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. This camp includes a weekly field trip.

Science Camp, for ages 5 to 7 and 8 to 11, will be held in two sessions, with a limit of 45 campers per session. Session 1 runs from July 1 to 5 (no camp July 4), and Session 2 will be held from July 29 to Aug. 2. Extended care is offered during these camps.

Park Rangers, for ages 12 to 14, gives youth an opportunity to participate and help with Adventure Camp. They will develop leadership training, team building, and community service.

Life After High School Week is for ages 12 to 14. Throughout the week, children will travel to colleges in the area and visit the Indiana Dunes.
