CEDAR LAKE | L'arc en Ciel Theatre Group, now in its ninth year at Great Oaks Banquet Center, presents the Neil Simon comedy "Rumors," opening Sunday.
Show dates are Sunday and Nov. 15, 17, 22 and 24 at Great Oaks, 13109 U.S. 41, with dinner at 12:30 p.m. Sundays and 6:30 p.m. Fridays, followed by the performance. Dinner theater ticket prices are for $32 for adults and $30 for senior citizens. Tickets are available by phone at (219) 365-3197 or at (219) 374-8000.
"Rumors," a zany 1980's comedy appropriate for ages 13 and older, finds four couples invited to Charley and Mrya's anniversary party, but Charley and Myra are conspicuously absent. One by one the couples arrive, each learning something new about the goings-on and hiding it from the next couple to arrive. Rumors run rampant throughout the evening, and it all seems harmless until the police arrive.
The couples include Bruce Jung and Linda Slankard as Ken and Chris Gorman, Grant Fitch and Kali Rasala as Lenny and Claire Ganz, Gary Mion and Kathie Rosdil as Ernie and Cookie Cusack, and Alan Smith and Donna Griggs as Glenn and Cassie Cooper. Playing police offers are Steve Kaminsky and Cheryl Lutgen.
Directors are Paul and Angie Lowe, celebrating their ninth year with L'arc en Ciel after 38 years as founders of Lake Central Theatre Guild.
