CEDAR LAKE | Teachers in the Hanover Community School Corp. are getting an incentive to stay healthy.
The Hanover School Board authorized the purchase and issuance of gift cards associated with a new wellness program.
The gift cards will be provided via a grant from the Insurance Trust Group, Superintendent Thomas Taylor said.
Those who choose to participate in the program will be given pedometers to wear. The program sets goals each month, asking that participants complete a minimum amount of walking.
Those who reach the goal at the end of the month will be given a gift card, Taylor said.
The gift cards will go toward $25 worth of merchandise at Target, he said, “where we hope they will buy healthy food.”
