CEDAR LAKE | The Hanover School Board of Trustees has approved its proposed 2014 budget.

The proposed budget will now be sent to the Department of Local Government for final approval. Budgets are considered proposed budgets until approved by the DGLF.

The largest of the funds is the General Fund, coming in at $13,467,786 with a levy of zero. The second largest is Exempt Debt Service at $3,559,678, with a levy of $3,711,488. The Debt Service Fund is $2,829,060, with a levy of $2,960,664. Capital Projects comes in at $1,048,109, with a levy of $998,123.

The Transportation Fund is at $548,768, and a $530,000 levy. The Bus Replacement Fund is at $220,000, 213,000 levy, and two buses will be replaced this year. Hanover schools keeps its buses in service for 12 years before replacing them.
