CEDAR LAKE | The Hanover Community School Corp. has received approval to apply for a technology loan from the state.
The School Board will apply for money from the Indiana Common School Fund. It can apply for a loan of up to $197,000, with an interest rate of 1 percent.
The money would be used for technology purposes, such as to buy laptops and smart boards.
Because the district is at the point of paying off its current outstanding loans, it would be well-positioned to take on a technology loan, interim Superintendent James Thorne said.
