CEDAR LAKE | The Hanover School Corp. board has approved five capital improvements projects, including new tennis courts for the high school.
The board authorized issuing general obligation bonds totaling $2.5 million for the courts. The bonds are set to be issued this month.
The board plans a number or projects, including new playgrounds, the maintenance and repair of secondary buildings and new infrastructure for tennis courts.
The courts were in too poor condition to be used and athletes have had to practice on courts in Crown Point and complete only in away matches.
The board plans to create nine new courts, more than doubling the size of the current tennis complex.
