CEDAR LAKE | The Hanover School Board of Trustees has filled three new administrative positions and accepted the resignation of a popular principal.
Brandie Muha, longtime principal at Lincoln Elementary School, resigned this month to take a new position with East Porter County School Corporation.
“It broke my heart,” Hanover Superintendent Thomas Taylor said. “Brandie had done a marvelous job at Lincoln Elementary. She will be sorely missed.”
Lincoln’s Assistant Principal Melissa Walley was named Muha’s successor. Walley had earlier interviewed for the principal’s position at Jane Ball.
The board also hired Christopher Ross as the new assistant principal at Hanover Central Middle School. He replaces Kevin Bachinski, who was hired as the district’s athletic director. Ross worked as a counselor and in a technical leadership position in Knox Schools before coming to Hanover.
“The community of Cedar Lake is just beautiful,” Ross said. “I’m ready to be a Wildcat."
Mary Ann West also was hired as assistant principal at Hanover Central High School. She has prior experience as a middle school principal and assistant principal.
Prior to coming to Hanover, she was worked for a prep school on the west side of Chicago.
