ST. JOHN | The St. John Police Department asks the public’s help to identify two suspects in a theft at Strack & Van Til store on Sunday.
According to police reports, the male and female suspects entered the store at 9825 Wicker Ave. at approximately 3:40 p.m. and allegedly stole $300 worth of disposable/refill razor blades.
Detective Steve Flores said the male suspect pulled the razor blade package off a display and the female suspect put the items in her purse.
Both then left the store without paying for the items, Flores said. They got into a teal blue Chevy Blazer and left in an unknown direction.
The male suspect is described as white, between 20 and 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 190 pounds. He is clean shaven with neat short hair, wearing sneakers, blue jeans and a navy blue jacket with white stripes down the arms, the detective said.
The female suspect is described as white, in her 50s, about 5 feet tall and heavy set. She was wearing a black and red coat, blue jeans, black sneakers and carrying a black purse.
The pair is also seen on video at the Schererville and Cedar Lake Strack & Van Til stores committing the same crimes, Flores said.
Anyone who can identify the suspects is encouraged to contact Detective Steve Flores at (219) 365-6032 as soon as possible. Callers will remain anonymous.
