Students recognize veterans

Vietnam veteran Charles Purkey, who was among veterans honored at Lincoln Elementary School's Veterans Day program Friday, receives a "thank you" rose and cards from his granddaughter, Madison Purkey, a first-grader at the Cedar Lake school. She was among more than 400 students who participated in the event.
