CEDAR LAKE | The Hanover School Board recently approved a facility assessment study and will consider contracting for a proposed demographics study.

The consultant expected to appear before the board to talk about the study couldn't make the October meeting, so he has rescheduled for this month, Superintendent Thomas Taylor said.

The demographics study could provide information about growth in enrollment and allow district officials to plan for capital projects.

A facilities assessment study was approved last month and awarded to Skillman Corp., the contractor which oversaw the construction of Hanover Middle School. Skillman will be involved in an assessment of all school buildings meant to determine their future needs and also any maintenance or repairs that might be needed.
