It's tradition for many families to share what they're most thankful for as they sit around the dinner table before digging into a delicious homemade Thanksgiving meal.

But why not share what you're most grateful for with your local community? Shout it from the rooftops, if you will!

That's why NWI Communities is asking you to share what you're most thankful for this holiday season. It's super easy. Just email a few lines describing what you're most grateful for this year along with a photo to Celebrate@nwi.com. The deadline is noon on Nov. 25. We'll use your submissions to create a special gallery for you to share with your friends, family and neighbors.

We'll get you started! A few of the staffers of NWI Communities shared what they're thankful for:

"I am thankful that my son Anthony has the opportunity to know and continue to develop a wonderful relationship with his grandparents. I was positively influenced my mine and think about them daily and the lessons of infinite wisdom, humility and compassion that they have instilled in me." -Damian Rico, Times Community Online Director

"I am grateful that my husband and I are able to travel around our beautiful country to enjoy its natural beauty and history and to visit foreign soil and learn about other cultures and their history. I am also thankful to come home to be with our wonderful family and friends!" -Diane Poulton, Times Correspondent

"I'm thankful for every day that I get to spend with my dad — my best buddy and fellow die-hard Cubs fan. My idea of a perfect day is enjoying a game at Wrigley Field with my dad and my son! I am also thankful for nature's beauty and the stunning changes of seasons in the region." -Carrie Steinweg, Times Correspondent

"It's obvious and something many of us are thankful for, but I feel like I need to share it with all you lovely Northwest Indiana folks anyway! This Thanksgiving I'm thankful for my family. They're a goofy bunch, and I guess that makes me pretty goofy, too. But I'm not complaining. I love my family, and I couldn't be more grateful for them." -Laura Lane, Times Digital Producer

“I’m thankful for my awesome family! I don’t know what I’d do without them. They are my best friends, my support system and my motivation to be the best I can be. I can’t wait to share more laughs and good food with them this Thanksgiving!” -Tara McElmurry, Times Associate Niche Content Producer

"I am so fortunate to be surrounded by my family and friends who put a smile on my face, a laugh in my day and unending love and support in my life when things get crazy or tough! -Lesly Bailey, Times Correspondent
