INDIANAPOLIS | Gov. Mitch Daniels hopes Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley will like having an Indianapolis Colts flag flying from his official vehicle.

The loser having to fly the winners' flag for a week is part of the wager the two governors made Thursday on the outcome of Saturday's AFC divisional playoff game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens.

As is customary, the winning governor will receive a selection of food from the losing state.

If the Ravens win, O'Malley will receive a shrimp cocktail from St. Elmo's Steak House in Indianapolis and a sugar cream pie, the Indiana state pie. If the Colts win, Daniels will receive Maryland crab cakes and a Smith Island cake, Maryland's state dessert.

"I didn't want to bet money, because I don't think Maryland's check will clear," Daniels said. Maryland has a $2 billion budget deficit.

Earlier this week, O'Malley claimed Daniels was too "scared" to bet on the game.

Colts fever has begun to spread in the Statehouse. State Rep. Dan Stevenson, D-Highland, said he showed his support for Indiana's team Thursday by wearing a blue Colts logo tie on the House floor.

The Colts beat the host Ravens 17-15 in a November. Oddsmakers have made Indianapolis a seven-point favorite to win Saturday.

The Colts moved to Indianapolis from Baltimore in the middle of the night March 29, 1984, a loss that still smarts for some Maryland football fans.
