Crown Point traffic restricted for World Series ceremonies

Downtown Crown Point will be closed from 3 to 10 p.m. today for the National Softball Association World Series Fast Pitch opening ceremonies and block party.

Road closings include the Old Courthouse Square and South Main Street from Hack Court to Walnut Street. Also closed will be the intersections of North and Main streets, East and Robinson streets, East and Clark streets, East Street and U.S. 231, East and Hack streets, East and Walnut streets, East and School streets, South and Main streets, South and Court streets, West and School streets, West and Walnut streets, West and U.S. 231, West and Robinson streets, Court and North streets, Court and Robinson streets, Main and Robinson streets, Hack and Main streets and Hack and Court streets.

The public is invited to the block party which will feature vendors, limbo, face painting, bean bag toss, jump rooms, and more. Fireworks will take place at dusk.
