CROWN POINT | A Timothy Ball Elementary School parent recently stepped up to the plate and shared a great story with our kindergarten students. There have been many lessons and activities enjoyed by all this month as we celebrate Disability Awareness Month. This particular lesson had a very personal touch.
Mr. Lewandowski stopped by our kindergarten classrooms to share his experiences with multiple sclerosis. Our students learned about MS and how it affects the ability of the brain and the spinal cord to talk to one another.
Mr. Lewandowski shared the important fact that many times disabilities cannot be seen or noticed when you look at people. Because of this, we should treat everyone with kindness.
Usually these lessons are read in a text book or, possibly, seen in a video. Timothy Ball kindergarten students learned from one of our own school community members.
Mr. Lewandowski was kind enough to stick around and record some comments that will be shared with all students on our Friday Video Announcements. We cannot thank Mr. Lewandowski for taking the time to stop by and share his story.
