CROWN POINT | The Crown Point Community Foundation will begin accepting online scholarship applications Tuesday for the Women’s Giving Circle Scholarships, the Ron and Suzanne Borto Scholarships, the Kathy Townsend Memorial Scholarship and the Crown Point Lions Club Scholarship.
This year, all applicants will apply and submit applications online. Access the scholarship application through a link at www.thecpcf.org or the foundation's Facebook page, Crown Point Community Foundation. The deadline for applications is Aug. 8.

The criteria for each adult learner scholarship is as follows:
- Women’s Giving Circle Scholarship - female Crown Point resident 21 and older returning to college, university, trade or vocational school. Need based. Number of scholarships and amounts vary, depending on total gifts received from the Women’s Giving Circle.
- Ron and Suzanne Borto Scholarships - Lake County resident 25 and older returning to college, university, trade or vocational school. Two $650 scholarships awarded.
- Kathy Townsend Memorial Scholarship - Lake County resident 21 or older enrolled at a local college or university pursuing a degree in nursing and having completed 48 hours toward degree. Need based, $1,000 scholarship.
- Crown Point Lions Club Scholarship - Crown Point High School graduate having completed second semester in a program leading to a bachelor’s degree in speech and hearing pathology, optometry, or related fields, at an accredited college or university by the time the $1,000 scholarship is to be paid. Applicants enrolled in post graduate degree programs in the indicated fields of study also eligible. Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students and scholarship may be awarded to the same applicant, without limitation, in subsequent years if they re-apply. Financial need, scholastic ability, character, leadership and integrity also considered.
