CROWN POINT | Mayor Uran’s Office of Special Events will host it's fifth annual nighttime St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 17 and will feature emergency vehicles, lit entries, Band of Brothers Pipes and Drums, Lake County Pipes and Drums, Grand Marshall Mayor David D. F. Uran, the Junior Grand Marshall Event Logo Contest Winner Brooklynn Frassinone, and much more.

Celebration festivities begin on the historic Crown Point Courthouse Square prior to the parade start at dusk. Vendors will be selling items on the South side of the Courthouse Square such as concessions, parade novelties, traditional Irish heritage items, jewelry, glow sticks and festive Irish themed items.

The parade will commence during snow, rain or shine on South Main Street around the square.

Traffic Notice: East Street from North to Clark St., in front of the Fire Station will be closed all day starting at 9am. Handicap parking will be available at the Clark Street entrance into the Police Department with proper identification. Togo orders can be picked up through the Clark Street entrance into the PD as well.

Due to increased traffic, the intersections of South & Main, a portion of Wells Street, and Court & South Street will be closed for a short duration during the parade for safety concerns.

The downtown square closes at noon to through traffic. No parking will be permitted around the square. The vendor area opens at 3pm as well as the entertainment on the square will begin.

In addition to the lighted night parade, the downtown area will be decked in green, creative window displays and an event logo contest will highlight the celebration. The Window Decorating Contest Winner will be announced at 6:45 p.m. Parade begins shortly after at Dusk.
