CROWN POINT | Recent donations of $1,000 or more from local individuals and groups to support the new downtown library are being recognized in the library Author’s Circle.

Individuals are welcome to become an Author themselves or in recognition or memory of another person or family. Membership is also open to groups, families, friends, clubs or corporations, who wish to be recognized as major benefactors.

Each individual or group will receive one set of Author's Circle benefits to be used at their discretion, including recognition as an Author's Circle member, Gift Level Recognition, Lifetime membership to the Friends of the Crown Point Library, VIP tickets to all upcoming celebrations, a lifetime invitation to annual library celebration events and a gift bag.

This opportunity to become an Author will be available until June 2013.

Recent donations to the Author’s Circle include $10,000 from the family of former board member Jim Conlon, in his honor, and the magazine room will be recognized in his name.

Robert A. Taft Middle School's Student Council sponsored a Valentine Dance to raise funds for the new library and Student Council officers presented Crown Point Community Library Board Treasurer Fiona McCarroll, a check for $1,000 to help purchase items for the teen area.

Crown Point chapter of Psi Iota Xi sorority chose the Crown Point Community Library as its 2012 recipient of a $1,000 National Literacy Grant Project that will help purchase an activity panel in the children’s area.

Additional Authors are: Gamma Theta chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority in Crown Point, Lenora Festa, Felix Pavloff, the Steele family, Christine and Bradley Hendrickson, and in memory of James and Margaret Malloy.

Donors at all levels of giving will be celebrated and recognized in a distinctive manner. Gift Campaign brochures are available at both the Crown Point and Winfield libraries and information is available at
