CROWN POINT | The Crown Point Board of Public Works and Safety approved a 10-year extension to a lease with CS Sports Group for space in the city-owned sports complex.

CS Sports Group has proposed placing a 120,000-square-foot inflatable dome for soccer, softball, ruby and other activities for year-round use in the 95-acre complex on North Street, pending CS Sports Group obtaining private financing for the project.

The extension approved by the public works and safety board adds 10 years to an already approved 20-year lease for the dome and puts the term of the lease in line with terms of pending private financing, city officials said.

Terms of the lease call for a $1 a year payment through October 2043. In lieu of further rent, the city would have use of the dome during non-peak hours.
