CROWN POINT | A Crown Point couple will seek a different location for a proposed preschool after an earlier choice was recommended for denial by the Plan Commission.
The planning board in February recommended against a zoning variance to permit a preschool at 1414 E. North St., citing concerns over traffic at the location.
Wayne and Rachael Hiestand, who'd requested the variance, informed the city in March they hope to be back with a new location and will no longer pursue the East North Street site for a preschool, Mayor David Uran said.
Their request for a zoning variance had been due to be decided by the City Council on March 4.
