CROWN POINT | The city will provide street sweeping of state roads under a contract the Board of Public Works and Safety recently approved with the Indiana Department of Transportation.
The contract calls for twice-a-year cleaning of 9.34 curb miles, including the disposal of dirt and debris. The state agrees to pay the town $360 per curb mile, for a total not to exceed $13,449 for the work.
Included are northbound and southbound lanes of Ind. 55 and eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. 231, along with the downtown square.
