CROWN POINT | Officials have pushed back the city's Halloween trick-or-treating hours one day to 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
Mayor David Uran said late Wednesday officials had been monitoring the weather and decided to push back the hours to Friday.
"The safety of our children is the No. 1 priority," he said.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook Wednesday for Chicago and Northwest Indiana. There was a chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms into Thursday night.
