CROWN POINT | Crown Point's annual nighttime St. Patrick's Day parade kicks off with the corned beef and cabbage dinner at the Crown Point Fire Rescue Department, 126 N. East St.
The traditional dinner, served on March 17, includes corned beef and cabbage with carrots, red potatoes in butter sauce, rye bread, dessert and soda or water.
Dinners are $10 when bought in advance from the Mayor's Office of Special Events, 11065 Broadway, Suite F. Seniors, 62 and older, receive a discounted price of $9 for their meal, whether by advance purchase or at the door.
A kid's meal of a hot dog, St. Patrick's Day cookie, chips and soda or water is available for $4.
Advance purchase tickets made by made by credit card or over the phone by calling the parks office at (219) 661-2271. There is a minimal credit card fee.
The advance purchase runs through March 16. Supplies are limited.
Meals are dine in or carry out.
The parade, which follows at dusk, features emergency vehicles, lighted entries, the Band of Brothers Pipes and Drums, Lake County Pipes and Drums, Grand Marshal Mayor David Urban and the Junior Grand Marshal, the winner off the logo contest.
