CROWN POINT | Crown Point police responded to reports of thefts from vehicles recently.
Thefts were reported at 8:07 a.m. and at 9:46 a.m. Dec. 14 in the 400 block of Hastings Court, at 8:33 a.m. in the 400 block of O'Hagen Drive and at 6:23 p.m. in the 700 block of Wirtz Road, according to police.
An attempted theft was reported the same day at 7:22 a.m. in the 1000 block of Mary Ellen Drive.
The vehicle break-ins appeared to be crimes of opportunity in which vehicle doors were left open with valuables inside, police said.
