CROWN POINT | An ongoing investigation by Crown Point police resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old woman for alleged possession of heroin.
Morgan Trulley, of Crown Point, was charged by the Lake County prosecutor's office on Thursday with possession of a controlled substance in connection with the incident, Crown Point police said in a release.
Police went to a residence in the 100 block of Henderlong Parkway just before noon on Oct. 5 as part of the ongoing investigation when a vehicle pulled into the driveway with two people inside, police said.
Police questioned the vehicle occupants, who were known to police, and one was found to have a clear plastic bag containing a white powder in one of her pockets, police said.
A field test of the substance confirmed it was heroin weighing 30 grams, police said.
Trolley was taken to the Lake County jail. A cash bond was set at $1,000.
