Center Township board OKs state-mandated nepotism policy

CROWN POINT | Center Township officials adopted an ordinance incorporating state-mandated rules against hiring relatives.

The nepotism policy became effective July 1. It restricts the hiring of a relative who would be in either a direct supervisory or subordinate position.

The ordinance adopted by the Center Township advisory board mirrors nepotism rules adopted at the state level earlier this year.
