CROWN POINT | The Center Township proposed 2014 budget has been scheduled for a second reading in October prior to adoption.
The proposed budget reflects a $5,000 decrease in the cost of legal costs for fire protection services, Trustee Paul Bremer said.
The total cost for fire protection services in 2014 is proposed at $415,000.
The proposed budget includes $201,909 for poor relief, up from $200,645 in 2013.
A second hearing on the budget is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 7 at the township trustee's office, 1450 E. Joliet St., Crown Point.
